Consultation
Together, we can develop your game mechanics and narrative, walk through the foundations of game development, or establish a roadmap for your project. As both a writer and designer, I’m happy to assist however I can.
Video or audio call on your preferred platform. (60$ per hour.)
Game writing
I'll write character summaries, dialogue, quests, mechanics, game design documents, loading screen tooltips, or any other creative game-adjacent document you may need.
(Billed per word or hourly. Rates negotiable.)
Other creative work
If you enjoy my work, you might want me on a project that doesn't fall neatly into the game design category. I do this job for the love of it, so if an opportunity presents itself, let me know!
Short Story - Short story, psychological thriller. It’s about a guy with that weird phobia of ducks watching you. Pretty spooky stuff.
Audio - light sci-fi, 6m20s, scripted dialogue, funny, 3 VAs. Fully voice acted example of some in-game dialogue I wrote. Join a mech pilot as he tries to save a post-apocalyptic city from vampires while his friends call him from back in the workshop. I like to think it’s pretty funny.
Opening cutscene script - survival horror, cutscene, gameplay, sci-fi, cinematic. This snappy script plays out as both a tutorial and an opening cutscene. This was originally a test write, so I’ve left some of my commentary notes in.
Design Document Excerpt - fantasy, rogue-like, character/level design. GDDs can be a little dry, so here’s just a few of the interesting bits I did on one particular project. Characters, level design, plot synopsis, and art direction.
2 Page TTRPG - quick, easy, funny, 2000s retro. “Road to Promageddon” is the only tabletop RPG about trying to get to prom on time using the power of friendship, a (really) big raccoon, and a gundam/1959 Cadillac Series 62 convertible. And yes. It’s only 2 pages. (Plus, only page 1 is instructions. And it’s free. Go wild.)
I'm a Canadian game maker who's been making games approximately forever. My professional start was on Fiverr, where I've worked on over 50 projects, ranging from solo indie dreams to full fledged studio endeavors.
As is mentioned in my logline, cooked bread is my favourite food, I play the saxophone pretty good, and I think the wii is the best/worst console ever made.
While at university in 2018, I invented a 4v4 sport called Cartball, which requires 4 shopping carts, a dog's rope toy, and a dumpster. Source your shopping carts responsibly.
